Doctors of Instagram.
This is
a day late post but it’s going to be a monthly feature on the blog and
instagram account. You can follow the hashtag
Happy
International Womens Day. As part of this monthly feature, I’ll be showcasing
different categories of Malaysian Indian Women. We’re starting off with
Malaysian Indian female Doctors on Instagram who are practising doctors. Not only are
these women medical doctors saving lives and making a difference, they are also
fashionable fashionista’s with much to say.
Dr. Revady Nadaesan,
Her
middle name should be positivity, Dr Revady often writes encouraging posts for
her followers. She brings out different perspective in everyday issues. While doing
all that she runs Stylesifu and is a fashion icon followed by many. A mother, wife and a medical doctor with an avid interest
in fashion and styling, she loves empowering women through fashion as she believe
that confidence is the ultimate key to looking good. The husband
and wife team run Klinik AR Medicare.
Dr Dhivya Dhyana Suppiah
Dr Dhivya Dhyana holds many hats. The young doctor was named Miss
Universe Malaysia Vice Queen in 2016, Miss World Malaysia 3rd runner
up and Miss MalaysianIndian Global. She also models part time in between her
hectic schedule and was a Bharathanatyam, Bollywood, hip hop and fusion dancer
as well as trained in Indian Carnatic Vocals and Plays the Piano. And who says
you can’t be a blue haired Doctor? She is currently in Vietnam for the Zone 4
Medical and Dental Health Camp 2018.
Dr Maya Nagaratnam
Dr Maya Nagaratnam is a Pain and Anaesthetic consultant at
Pantai Hospital as well as the Director of the Pain Centre. She divides her
time between the private sector and government hospital with a teaching
commitment at HUKM. She has published several medical publications throughout
her career. She returned back to Malaysia after working in the medical field in
London for 20 years. You’ll see her rocking her sarees on her Instagram account.

Paveena Bhavani
Dr
Paveena Bhavani is an Eye surgeon at the Tun Hussien Onn Eye Hospital. The Ophthalmologist subspeciality is Oculoplastic,
Lacrimal System and Orbit. After obtaining her Fellowship of the Royal Colleges
of Surgeons (FRCS) Ophthalmology in Edinburgh in 2014, Dr. Paveena pursued
sub-speciality training in orbit and oculoplasty at Aravind Eye Hospital,
Madurai, India. Besides oculoplasty, Dr. Paveena performs cataract and
pterygium surgeries.
Dr Nisha Ravendran
Dr Uma Yuganisha Ravendran or better known as Dr Nisha
Ravendran is a dentist. She was also a former hockey state player for Kedah.

Dr Malar
Velli Segarmurthy
Dr Malar is the Head Assistant Director for PDPK (Unit for
Planning Health Plans and Actions in MOH) under the Ministry of Health,
Malaysia. The cheery Dr is also a stylish women who often shares her fashion
sense on Instagram.
Dr Hanujah Mageswaran
Dr Hanujah Mageswaran makes up the recently married husband and wife make up artist team at Blush Beauty and Beyond. Doctors by day, they are make up artists over the weekend. The stylish pair are Instagram favourites.

Cecilliann Veronica practiced in numerous hospitals in the country before
starting her own practice and establishing the KL Sky Clinic.
